In Google Docs create a 1pg "cheat sheet" on the history of the camera and any historical figures that changed the photography. Include any significant developments that changed photography (Like the switch from TLR to SLR or from film to digital.

PROJECT:WATERMARK IN LIGHTROOM

For this project you will use your logo you created last year to create a custom watermark in Lightroom. Use this video to learn how to make a watermark and label one of your photos with a watermark. Upload this photo into a folder named watermark in Q3. 

PROJECT:PERSONAL LOGO CREATION

For this project you will label your metadata in Lightroom. In the Library tab click on metadata and add the following: title, caption, rating, and label. This information can be helpful when uploading to sites or organizing your files. When you are done take a screenshot and upload it to Q3.

As a class we will discuss issues related to fair-use, legal rights, ethics issues, and censorship. Make sure you understand these terms and are able to discuss them in detail.

For this project you will take a series of images with a 70-300mm lens to show how different focal lengths affect the background of an image.

PROJECT: ND FILTER SHOOT

For this project you will take a series of images with a neutral density filter in order to see how filters can change the style and scope of your image.

For this assignment you will draw out a series of Histograms that prove that you understand how they work and what they are used for!

Read the article then take this quiz without looking at the answers. This is a valuable technique!

PROJECT: PANNED PHOTOS

For this project you will need to track the subject at the same speed they are going. The subject should come out sharp and in focus while the background shows movement blur!

This week we will be putting together a basic portfolio of work created in this class. You should have at least one image per element and principle. If you are missing images you will need to take them!

This week we will be picking any two of the elements or principles of art and creating new images. On Friday those images will be critiqued by the class.

PROJECT: STUDIO WHITE BALANCE

For this project you will be paired with another student and take a picture in each of the following light styles: split, loop, Rembrandt, Butterfly/Paramount, short, broad

For this project you will take the same posed picture in studio only with the same settings, only adjusting the white balance. 

Watch the videos on the left and write down notes of anything important. This should include, all the lighting setups, how and why to use a light meter, and lighting ratio information

In this project we will find and restore an old family photo. Many times old photos will have scratches, dust, and discoloring. We will fix all this in Photoshop.

We are going to print out the restored picture and give it to family members!
