This quarter will will work with light and within the elements of art: Line, Shape, Form, Color, Texture, Space, and Value.

Senior Portraits

15 outdoor portraits

You will be randomly assigned another student in class.

Use Outdoor Strobes and professional lighting techniques.

Light Study: Line

LIGHT PAINTING

For this project we will be studying the element of art line. Using the light painting demo from last quarter you will do one studio light painting and one outdoor (probably at home or park) light painting.

For this project we will be studying the element of art shape. Using the water droplet demo, use speedlights and color gels to create interesting designs.

INDOOR Portraits

For this project we will be studying the element of art value. How can you use light to create beautiful and interesting indoor portraits? You will need to create 5 high value indoor portraits that hit every value on the value scale.

ARCHITECHURAL IMAGES

For this project we will be studying the element of art form. Form is the 3D effect in an image or the way shapes and lines create depth in an image. To practice this Element we will be focusing on Architectural photography.

Creating Backdrops

For this project we will need to be a little crafty. The goal is to take 3 portraits using backdrops that YOU have created. You can create with paint, textures, light, items you find. Be creative!
